Fast Track for Java Web Developer

Due to an increase in our short-term demand for Java Web Developer, BaliCamp decides to open a new program called Fast Track for Java Web Developer, where the program lasts only for 5 weeks (instead of the normal 9 weeks). This program focuses only on basic Web Development using Java technologies, hence skipping the Desktop Programming section, the project workshops, and the session on Hibernate.

The program will require the trainees to attend the daily session (13.00 - 17.00) from Monday to Friday, and the Saturday session (08.00 - 17.00). The Saturday session will be used to allow the trainees to have better understanding of the materials given throughout the week, and to give the trainees more hands-on experiences.

Following image should be able to show the curriculum for the Fast Track program for Java Web Developer.

Fast Track for Java Web Developer Curriculum

This program requires the trainees to make an investment of 2.000.000 rupiahs, and the best 5 trainees with score of 75 or more will be offered a working contract in BaliCamp Jakarta/Tangerang. So, if you are interested, do not hesitate to contact our office at +62-31-5022157, or e-mail me at epramono at balicamp dot com for more information.

Batch 3 Curriculum

Following our success with the previous 2 batches, we now offer our 3rd batch of Java training/recruitment. A few changes have been made, i.e.:

  • Morning class (08.00 - 12.00)
  • Afternoon class (13.00 - 17.00)
  • Evening class (18.00 - 21.00)

All classes will take the duration of 9 weeks (45 days), with the following syllabus:

Curriculum Nov'06

Click here for a larger image.

On the right hand side of the image, you can see how BaliCamp requires their entry-level programmers to be. The stack of technical skills required by BaliCamp each year grows up. We can never go back, only the best breed of technologies are required by our clients. Thus, if the universities in Indonesia do not update their curriculum frequently, our training/recruitment program will take longer each time. Maybe the next batch will take 10-11 weeks to complete, because what I’ve put in there as BaliCamp 2006 is not the complete requirements for a programmer to enter BaliCamp in the year 2006. There are still other requirements left out of the curriculum for now.

You can also see the big arrow on the left hand side of the image. That arrow shows that you have to understand the technologies listed on the lower part of the image, in order for you to understand the more advanced technologies listed in the upper part of the image. For example, if you want to understand Spring-Hibernate, we require you to understand Hibernate, ORM, Spring-JDBC, Spring-Core, IDE (NetBeans), JDBC, Java, XML, and OOP. A similar stack of technologies you can see for Spring-MVC, etc.

By following this program, you can experience full stack of the best Java technologies available for the industry. You can also have a chance of experiencing the real world projects and other technologies on top of this stack. As you can guess, we use many more advanced technologies not shown in the image, because they’re on top of the currently shown technologies, and are not parts of our current curriculum.

All you have to do is to make an investment for yourself. The morning & afternoon classes require you to invest up to 2.500.000,- rupiahs, whereas the investment for the evening class is 3.000.000,-. So, if you think that’s a worthy investment for an excellent career with us, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Call us at +62-31-5022157, or e-mail me at epramono at balicamp dot com for more information. We’ll see you in our classes..  :)

JaMU Surabaya Presentation

Last Saturday, the BaliCamp Recruitment Center has successfully hosted a JaMU Surabaya event, a local JUG Indonesia event, which presents two topics on Java:

  1. Java Technology Overview, by Eric Pramono
  2. Spring Framework Overview, by Moch. Nasrullah R.

The event was quite successful, considering it as the first event after the last event conducted sometime one year ago. There were 32 participants, with 17 of them are coming from STIKOM, an IT-focused higher education institutions in Surabaya.

Here is the link to the Java Technology Overview presentation. I will post the pictures later.

5 Reasons to Work in BaliCamp

Here’s some points that I’ve considered BaliCamp as a unique company compared to other Software Development companies in Indonesia:

1. New opportunities are opened as the team grows rapidly.

We always work in a team, both as an organizational unit and as a project team. A working project team does not require only the skills of Software Developer, yet it requires also the skills of a Software Tester, Software Designer, Business Analyst and Project Manager. Soon enough, you’ll be gaining more experience than just becoming a Software Developer. Who knows, maybe you get promoted in your first year. :D

2. One of a few very successful IT business in Indonesia.

IT Business requires not only a good team of software developer, but we have the best team of Marketing people, Project Managers, Business Analysts, experienced Software Designers and Software Develoeprs. We also have a great network of IT-related companies within our SIGMA group. We have been in business since 1998, and we shall be in the business for years to come.

3. We are an ISO 9001:2000 certified company.

We perform our activities based on the acclaimed international standard for delivering the best quality of products and services. There are a lot of stuffs that you can learn from an ISO 9001:2000 company, that you won’t get when you work in a regular company.

4. Great working environment.

We used to have the best environment to work when we were in Bali. Nevertheless, being in Jakarta doesn’t mean that we have to lose all those great stuffs. Still we have some of the most uniquely designed workplaces. Less bureaucracy, hierarchy and cubicles. Apparently what constitutes a great working environment is not just the place, the building, the park, but it’s the people you’re working with. We have some of the greatest people that you can work with. They are smart people with great hospitality. You’ll make great friends here.

5. The Google Effect.

I’d like to call it that way since it’s Google that brought it up the first time. Smart people like to work for Google because they see other smart people work there. Smart people like to work with smart people, it’s how they keep their learning pace and their survival for the world. It’s the same with BaliCamp. You get a chance to work with some of the brightest people I’ve ever worked with, and you’ll learn a lot. In a year or two, you might become one of those bright people that I’ve ever worked with :D

The Investment

OK, enough about the great stuffs that you can get from this training program. Let’s start talking about the investments that you need to make.

Free Registration

First of all, it’s a free registration. Send me an e-mail at epramono at balicamp dot com, providing your full name, address and phone number, and we’ll get back to you shortly. Then, we’ll arrange for your entry test dates, and we’ll be posting the dates here in this site.

Yes, we have entry tests. As I have mentioned in my first post, we are inviting the people who are interested and qualified for this program. Since the seats are limited, and we are expecting a large number of people interested in this program, it’s only natural that we will make prioritization on the first batch of trainees for the program.

Continuous Availability of the Training Class

The training program will be held continuously, every 2 months. We have prepared a place that’s big enough to hold 2 training classes, each consisting of 12 trainees, at the same time. Currently we will be opening the first class only. Afterwards, we may open a new class every 1-2 months, to accommodate the great interests in learning Java.

So, if you are interested in learning Java for your own benefit (in your own career), even without having the interest to work in BaliCamp, register yourself today. This training will only do you good, the return on investment is very high, when you compare that with the 2 months you’re going to spend.

The Investment

Once you’ve passed the entry tests, and you are part of the best 12 trainees in the batch, you’ll be contacted for continuing the financial process. The financial investment that you’ll need to make is 4 million rupiahs (Rp 4.000.000,-).

The training package already includes the training material given to you in the form of hardcopies, the computer facilities that you need to perform the hands-on lab & project workshop, and the chance of starting your career with BaliCamp.

4 million rupiahs for 320 hours of training is not expensive. It’s only 12.500 rupiahs per hour. Compare that to a two-days course with a price of 500.000 rupiahs or more.

If you calculate and compare this training with the other training programs usually offered by the other vendors, you’ll see a huge difference in our pricing. We are not here to make this training into a profitable business, rather we’d like to focus ourselves on our recruitment process.

So, you’ll get the chance of a lifetime to start your career in BaliCamp with the right ammunition on your side, and you’ll also be able to increase your own skill & knowledge with a very cheap investment.
